I live in a rented house, do I qualify for ECO Grant Funding?

Yes, privately rented households are entitled to this grant funding as well as homeowners.

Will I have to contribute towards the costs, or will it be fully funded?

ECO4 is mostly a fully funded scheme, there are certain elements that are considered when working out the total amount of funding that is available, this will be worked out once you have had your FREE whole house energy assessment, these elements are: the size of your property, heating source of your property (mains gas, electric, oil etc) and the EPC band of your property.

Do I have to pay back this funding if I move house?

The funding that is provided through the ECO scheme never has to be paid back, once you have gone through the process and had the efficient upgrades installed at your property the ownership of them is yours, at no point will you ever have to pay anything back.

What is an EPC?

EPC stands for energy performance certificate, what a EPC does is grade your property from A-G, A being the most efficient and G being the least, the national average is D rated. If you don’t already have an EPC for your property, that doesn’t matter as we complete one of these for you as part of the FREE whole house energy assessment.

I already have an EPC; can I use this to speed the process up?

Although it is helpful to already have an energy performance certificate issued for your property, we will still need to complete our own as part of the whole house energy assessment, this is to ensure accuracy as things may have changed at your property since this was done.

I live in a council house; can I claim ECO funding?

ECO funding is a scheme that is set up for private homeowners and private tenants, although you don’t qualify for ECO funding by being a council tenant, you maybe entitled to funding via your local council, please contact them for more information.
